Trials to Watch

• In Judge Scott Wisch’s 372nd District Court, defendant Benjamon Todd Stewart, 43, is being tried on three charges of intoxication manslaughter and three counts of failure to stop and render aid. He is accused of driving drunk and causing a wreck in Arlington that left a family of three dead. Najib Intidam, and his wife, Hanane Bakchine, and their 11-month-old daughter, Nour Intidam, were killed in a July 24, 2013, crash on Interstate 30 between Eastchase Parkway and Fielder Road.  Assistant District Attorneys Katie Woods and Paige McCormick are prosecuting the case.

• An intoxication manslaughter trial is underway in Judge Wayne Salvant’s Criminal District Court No. 2. Defendant Johnny Lee Morton, 28, is accused of driving drunk on September 13, 2013, and causing a wreck that killed Deanna Daniel, the driver of another vehicle. The crash occurred in the 9500 block of Highway 1187 in unincorporated Tarrant County. Assistant District Attorneys Richard Alpert and Nelda Cacciotti are prosecuting the case.
