The brutal 1994 rape and slaying of a young Arlington woman – a case prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Martin Purselley – will be featured on a crime show Sunday night on the Investigation Discovery (ID) channel.
The show Unusual Suspects tells true stories about crimes that lead to suspects who initially aren’t on investigators’ radar.
Louis Arroyo was one of those suspects. Arroyo was eventually arrested, convicted of capital murder, and sentenced to life in prison for the slaying of 20-year-old Missy Grubaugh.
On April 7, 1994, firefighters battling a blaze at the Holly Park Apartments on West Mayfield Road in Arlington discovered the body of Grubaugh, who had been stabbed and doused with gasoline.
The show is scheduled to air at 9 p.m. on Sunday, 12 a.m. on Monday, and 3 p.m. on March 10.
But that’s not all.
At 9 p.m. on March 11, the series will feature another Tarrant County crime – this one involving the homicides of three Arlington teens. The case was investigated by former Arlington detective Jim Ford, who is now an investigator with this DA’s Office, and prosecuted by ADA Bob Gill. Both Ford and Gill were interviewed for the show.
So, set your Tivos to tune into Unusual Suspects on the Investigation Discovery channel for the next 10 days. In the meantime, check out the video below for a sneak peak at the show Purselley participated in.
